Missing features / bugs

Ability to compose a new message to a given contact (or in some cases like sms, arbitrary name/number - so the ability to pick an account to use for sending)
Ability to search for contacts, either by just typing in the main screen or through some option
Ability to only show message overview for specific telepathy account (sms, irc1, irc2, xmpp1, slack1, etc)
Awareness of "online-ness" of accounts
Integration with addresbook library (osso-abook) - for avatars, selecting accounts, etc.\
Notification support (ought to be quite trivial, can look at modest for examples)
multi-window support

Things that need improvement:

Writing to the database needs more figuring out
Read notifications and message delivery
Integration with system theme(s) as opposed to a theme that looks like one of the default themes (icons + colours)

One very minimal improvement :

Send the message after typing if your press 'enter' , instead of having to click a GUI button
