Initial Risk Notes: This risk addresses wavefront sensing and control in the coronagraph loop and not the high-order wavefront sensing and control AO loop. LOWFS and CLOWFS methods have already been demonstrated and are used routinely. The next big development needed is the successful implementation of EFC, which had a successful first demonstration during a MagAO-X run in March 2024. It needs to be improved to achieve the ultimate contrast goals.
