can not install the Magefan Blog extension. #89

have installed magefan blog, but its not showing in the navigation bar. FOLLOWED BELOW STEPS 1.unzipped magefan blog 2.5.2v under app/code/magefan 2.upgraded 3.compiled 4.deploy. 5.flush. USED VERSIONS Mangeto 2.0v magefan blog-2.5.2 May i know the issue?

@angelflorida you can use some custom navigation menu or theme, so that's why blog item can be missed. Whet theme or navigation menu extension do you use?

Hi, No, we dont use custom navigation menu or theme for our website. before it was working, since have deleted and installed a new version its not working.

Navigation menu item is adding in this observer: https://github.com/magefan/module-blog/blob/master/Observer/PageBlockHtmlTopmenuBethtmlBeforeObserver.php

You can debug execute function. Maybe for some reason this observer is not called in your magento instance.

Hi, Please explain what to do with this observer and how to execute function, as am very new to magento am not aware of these steps.

also one thing, while upgrade magefan module is not appearing in the module list. also in etc/config magefan_blog is in 0. if i change it to 1 its showing a setup error. PFA.

Already same file is there in the directory. PFA which is located in the observer.

@angelflorida magefan_blog need to be enabled in etc/config, and you need to solve the error.

P.S.: when you have an error, don't just tell that you have an error, please also provide error message.

i have attached the error screenshot in the previous mail, FYR i ll attach in this mail too. after enabling magefan_blog this attached error has occured

As we sad in email "magento 2 can't create directory var/generation" is a Magento Issue (not issue of our blog, and you would get it by installing any other extension). Please use a Google to find a solution:

You can, but you have configured your Magento 2 wrong. Please see articles: https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/140251/magento-2-fatal-error-cant-create-directory-var-generation-magento http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/install-gde/trouble/tshoot_var-gen-perms.html

You have permission problems, fix them.
