Double faced card rarity distribution is wrong, does not consider number of DFCs of each rarity in a set

Example: For Eldritch Moon XMage puts a common DFC in 2/3 of packs and an uncommon DFC in the remaining 1/3 of packs. But there are 10 different uncommon DFCs in the set and only 2 different common DFCs.

So each common DFC appears in: 2/3 * 1/2 = 1/3 of packs

While each uncommon DFC appears in only: 1/3 * 1/10 = 1/30 of packs

So two thirds of EMN packs contain either an [[Ulvenwald Captive]] or a [[Vildin-Pack Outcast]], and each individual uncommon DFC is ten times rarer than these two common DFCs. Both are obviously wrong. You can verify this by making a few sealed pools--nearly every pool will have multiples of the two common DFCs.

The same is true of SOI (which has the same ratio of common:uncommon DFCs as EMN, only with twice as many of each) and likely all other sets with DFCs or with other special collation slots that can contain cards of different rarities (e.g. the planeswalker slot in WAR).

Is #7043 is an actual thing? I believe DFCs can only appear in their own special slot with its own collation logic, not in the normal slots of their rarity. For example the 9 normal common slots in an EMN booster will never contain a common DFC and the 3 normal uncommon slots will never contain an uncommon DFC. I've created a bunch of sealed pools to test this issue and all of them contain exactly one common or uncommon DFC per booster.

It doesn't seem to be a problem for Adventures either. I created a bunch of Eldraine sealed pools, and the largest number of adventure commons any of the pools had was 10 out of 60. If the adventures were getting collated twice as often as the other commons my pools would have had a lot more of them (the set has 14 common adventures out of 101 total commons).

I hope you can see the problem with Eldritch Moon. The two common DFCs are each getting opened more than each basic land is!

According to The Collation Project (SOI, EMN) 80/120 of booster packs should contain one of the 20 or 10 uncommon DFCs and the remaining 40/120 packs should contain one of the 4 or 2 common DFCs. Xmage simply needs to reverse the ratio it uses.

Rivals of Ixalan does not appear to have a problem with DFCs getting collated more often than other cards of their rarity (every DFC in the set is rare or mythic) so I think #7043 can be closed as not a bug.

The sets that still need to be tested are ISD and DKA--these are the sets with DFCs of all four rarities and only one DFC slot.

BTW xmage uses two styles to booster generation: by slots/ratio and by real collation from The Collation Project. The last one implemented for few sets only:

I think DKA is the only one. I've opened #8083 which fixes DKA and SOI, EMN needs more substantial work, to implement the same special pack logic as SOI.
