Open Rickertje opened 6 years ago

Rickertje commented 6 years ago

Preconditions

  1. M2.2.5

Steps to reproduce

  1. Put item in cart
  2. Go to checkout
  3. Enter shipping address
  4. Press Next to go to checkout step 2
  5. Return to the store
  6. Go to checkout (customer data still present - which is GOOD)
  7. Return to the store
  8. Add or delete an item or update the cart in some other way
  9. Go to checkout

Expected result

  1. Checkout data (shipping address etc) still here / persistent

Actual result

  1. Checkout data is gone - which ofcourse is a GIANT dealbreaker

Hi @magento-engcom-team, thank you for your report. This is an expected behavior.

Rickertje commented 6 years ago

Are you kidding me ? Maybe this is expected behavior for you but not for the miliions of customers who visit M2 sites and get frustrated to the bone by this kind of behavior.

"Well I entered shipping and billing address but I forgot to add item A to the cart . Stupid me. But ok lets get back to the shop and add it to the cart. That was a breeze! Now back to checkout. Huh - all the data I enterd i gone ??? - looks like I just enterd a time machine back to the dark ages. I cant believe it. Ok lets find another webshop."

Ok @engcom-backlog-nazar I tried to find a way to do this but I could not (at least not an easy way). How do I do that? Or can you do it for me?

You have brought it exactly to the point. Because of this issue we lose 2-3 customers per day and we are a small shop. Especially on mobile devices it is very tedious if I have to re-enter all the address data just because I forgot a product. I am surprised that no eCommerce merchant sees this as a serious issue.
