URGENT - Product price in front end is different from catalog price in backend. Cart displays wrong tax calculations. #10070

Help needed Please.

Preconditions

  1. On Magento 2.1.7
  2. PayPal as Payment gateway
  3. PHP 7

Steps to reproduce

  1. configured the Sales Panel in admin panel
  2. created configurable products in admin panel
  3. Indicated prices in the products e.g. €89
  4. refreshed cache and reindexed
  5. went to frontend

Expected result

  1. The price should show correctly as indicated in the catalog panel
  2. The cart should show correct product price, correct tax and correct total

Actual result

  1. On the Frontend, the price on the product shows €71.77 instead of €89
  2. The tax displayed is wrong,
  3. The total amount is wrong

@Sharlyll: What tax rules do you have configured? The price displayed appears to be the price excluding VAT (24% in Finland?). I've seen similar issues to this in Magento 1 which are usually caused by your tax rules not being triggered by your default tax settings.

Hi, @Sharlyll. Is this issue still actual? We were not able to reproduce it on ver. 2.1.7 and [2.2-develop] image

@punkstar The tax rules are as provided in the images. @1408sheva the issue still persist. Did you use the settings in the images above? I have been able to tweak the settings a bit, but the tax calculations between magento 2 and PayPal (Finland = 24% tax) is still wrong.

@Sharlyll No they're not :) Take a screenshot of the area in the admin that defines all the rules, including the 24% for Finnish orders.

Hi @1408sheva. I'm confused. Aren't you a representative of Magento, Inc., by any chance? The message posted by you previously suggests that you've been tasked with reproducing the issue, were you not?

You requested some additional information, and it was provided. Will an extra 3rd-party report saying "the issue still persists" really change anything for you? Wouldn't you need to reproduce it yourselves anyway? Why force the issue reporter to run through additional hoops if, frankly, it probably wouldn't even matter?

To an innocent bystander like me it might seem that you're just trying to dismiss the issue at all costs. That can't be right. Right?

@Sharlyll Please indicate which currency is your "Base Currency" and "Default Display Currency"? Stores->Configuration->General->Currency Setup: "Base Currency" and "Default Display Currency" image
