Animated Gif for CMS Pages using Page Builder #38259

Description

I have had a request in regards to an animated gif not working on our CMS pages. The animated gif seemed to work in the image uploader though, and able to be viewed within admin, but not Page Builder or other CMS types.

It would make it easier for marketers to contribute and keep their marketing pages on Magento as a base tool to link appropriately to products easily and effectively to also track clicks on their campaigns.

Expected behavior

Working with the current admin tools within the CMS interface for marketing and other interested parties to be able to add further content from the Page Builder paradigm that may make it even more feature rich for them. Instead of clicking on Image to add, there may be something similar to upload gif images that are expected to be animated so it can make it easier for them to find where to add it and then use it.

Benefits

  1. Animated gifs even within just the basic CMS page tool, or added to Page Builder, would help spread further adoption to marketing people, not just us devs that work on the system for us to sell product.
  2. It will keep all materials related to store sales together.
  3. Ease of use, no need for workaround in regards to animated gifs.
  4. Easier tracking for their campaigns that may come from an email.

Additional information

It would function within the current Page Builder, perhaps as a type, like Image. From what I have seen in our backend, it is able to upload the gifs, but not show them properly, but only within admin area in the Media area. I would also like a preview area for this gif so they can check it out before putting it through onto the page.
