Looks to be discontinued, No body even responding Yes or No . So guys i hope we have to looks for better Alternative we will miss MagicalRecord.:(
So guys, Any other Library which is somewhat mirror to MagicalRecord ? Swift or Obj-C.
I switched to Realm, and I regret it. The limitations are too important compared to MagicalRecord
Hi all. Magicalrecord was a project based on personal need for many years. I have always used it for every project requiring core data, and I will continue to do so. However, as of late, I simply haven't been working on any core data based iOS projects recently. So needless to say my motivation simply hasn't been present.
but that doesn't mean I want to shut it down. If there are any volunteers who may want to take over the project, I'd certainly be open to hearing other opinions that help the community.
Thanks for taking the time to answer @casademora.
It looks like a lot of the simplicity that MR brought became part of Core Data with iOS 10 (setup, entity creation, background contexts, …), and a lot of MR will no longer be needed in the coming years. At the top of my head, the 2 main features that still make MR relevant are finders and data import.
But this is my analysis after fast forwarding through the WWDC 2016 What's new in Core Data? video and is based on my own use of MagicalRecord, so I could be missing some things.
Yeah but who, nowadays, do a project with iOS 10 min SDK ?
@LivioGama I clarified my assertion: "is no longer needed" -> "will no longer be needed in the coming years", since 2 years from now, 97% of the devices "should" run on iOS 10 or 11.
Anyway, I just thought it was worth mentioning in a discussion about the future of MagicalRecord.
@sowenjub is correct: Core Data native features with iOS 10 have kind of superseded the need of MagicalRecord.
I'll be resurrecting MagicalRecord a bit now, in order to fix minor things (and compatibility with newer iOS/macOS/Xcode versions), but there will be no features added by me.
As @casademora said, volunteers are welcome. And I'd say, volunteers with the ability/time to review the existing issues and pull requests from others.
I'm now discontinuing support for MagicalRecord: see the updated readme.
Thank you and farewell @Coeur 🙏👋
Are you guys going to commit or Magical record development is over and we have to look for other alternative ? i am asking because i am about to start new project and i have to make choice.
