Data Abnormality #294

For some reason, at midnight, there is a huge jump in Balance usage mostly and then at 8-9pm, there is a huge negative value jump that occurs lowering my overall consumption which is definitely inaccurate. The two other Vue-2’s for the inside electrical panels in my garage are not displaying this behavior. I have a case open with Emporia support but they are closed for the weekend so figured I might be able to get answers here.

Any ideas?

You can see the Home Assistant dashboard for yesterday compared to Emporia’s dashboard. The garage interior panels are reading fine, this is only an issue with my outside panel. It’s been setup since Thursday and the behavior of this big jump at midnight and then huge negative drop at 8-9pm has happened for two straight days.

I just realized the time zone wasnt set for outdoor panel. I have corrected that, and will see if it fixes this issue.

Time zone was gonna be my guess, so hopefully that corrects it. You might need to reload the integration for it to pick up the updated value.

I want to add a repair for when the timezone is off from the server, or at least a warning, since it's something that can be detected.

Unfortunately, adjusting the time zone and reloading the config didn’t resolve the issue. I had a -27.41kwh reading from 12am to 1am overnight. Yesterday, I removed the 200amp clamps from the mains because the balance readings were thrown off because my outdoor panel is daisy chained to my indoor panels, and that was the reason why I had the high balance number. I believe the negative reading from 12am-1am is a seperate issue and the only one I am experiencing, right now.

Any ideas?
