aws-orc8r-eks-version upgrade report #15430

magma: v1.6 orc8r running on aws

I have been using the magma component for almost 2 years. Recently AWS support sent me an email saying that eks needs to be upgraded. I followed the email to check some information.

hi, I checked the information of magma v1.6, kubernetes uses v1.21, and aws eks currently maintains v1.26+

This version upgrade could be performed as part of https://github.com/magma/magma/issues/15420. Need to:

  1. Find out what module contains the reference. @tmdzk Do you know?
  2. Bump the version, probably by accepting an existing Dependabot upgrade PR.

In Slack @tmdzk says upgrading our Kubernetes version for NMS won't be that straightforward.
