So, I setup everything right, I checked many times and many tutorials, It worked fine once and now it just stopped working, I am using the fabric version but I am not getting any link message on mumble too.

ImGlitchh commented 3 years ago

I tried with the forge version and it's working with that one, but I need to use the fabric one because I have some other mods I am using to play with my friends and they are all for fabric.

ImGlitchh commented 3 years ago

Right now the Forge version is not compatible with the Fabric version. You can't hear people using the Forge mod while using the Fabric mod. Watch this issue for updates: #59

What operating systems do you all use? Do you all see the message in Mumble chat that says "Minecraft Mumble Link Mod linked"?

alright so all of us are using windows 10, and yes it does say it.

we are all going to try the forge version since this one refuses to work.

There are two Forge versions. The OG Forge version updated from 2012 is a different implementation and, like I said earlier, isn't cross-compatible yet. The more recent Forge version is the same code as here, just for loading on Forge.

What do you mean by not working? Who does each person hear?

If you can't hear anybody with positional audio enabled, it's an issue with the locations not being the same. This can happen if you have the Y-axis offset multiplier set to different non-zero values per-person because it controls how far different dimensions are offset in the y-dimension.

If you can hear everybody always, one of your doesn't have positional audio enabled and linked. Either positional audio isn't enabled at all, or it's an issue with someone's Mumble link (which happens if "Minecraft Mumble Link Mod linked" isn't in their Mumble chat). That can happen if their operating system or JVM has some kind of quirk that needs a workaround (like using Optifine with macOS, which I already have a workaround for).

we can everybody always, and I screenshared them, they all had positional audio and received the Mumble Link mod Linked message, so I dont really know why it's not working.

magneticflux- commented 3 years ago

Somebody being able to hear everybody means that the positional information is being ignored for one of these reasons:

  1. "Positional Audio" in "Audio Output" isn't enabled
  2. The information is being stripped server-side because the contexts don't match. The contexts are (until #59 is fixed) unique to each Mumble Link mod, so you generally can't interchange mods.

That's just how it is. It's documented on the Mumble wiki and I've read the source code.

ImGlitchh commented 3 years ago

But we are all using the same version with positional audio turned on and the we also tried the badlion version, the lunar client version and normal forge, none of them are working.

magneticflux- commented 3 years ago

So none of the mods work? That indicates a misconfiguration of Mumble.

You can use the "Manual placement plugin" to debug what the Mumble issue, since it's guaranteed to work. If everything works with the Manual placement plugin, then start trying to use Minecraft.
