I can move cursor, it responds to events and plays a sound when I press any key, it just never continues. I have it installed on a btrfs partition and I've had weird problems with installing other games there.

Has anyone gotten this game to run on a btrfs partition or is it not a btrfs problem?

Yeah it works after I moved it to my C:/. But I'd like to get it working on btrfs

itsTyrion commented 1 year ago

Have you tried just linking it to C:\ (NTFS junction?)

I'm also trying to install games on ZFS and BTRFS for efficient and fast compression than NTFS compression.

I am failing to move to btrfs from a btrfs disk.

The zfs on windows restarts with a bsod, but the btrfs just restarts. If my desktop restarted while moving files to btrfs, I can't see the event in the event viewer. I just get a message that there were shut down and restarted unexpectedly.

maybe I have to try to user btrfs-debug

NTFS feature that allows.. "symlinking" a folder to another folder on the same or even a different drive. might not work with a BTRFS target.

rautamiekka commented 1 year ago

NTFS symlinks and junctions are terribly slow on Windows for some reason: even the simplest operations tend to take so long that the whole system slows down, making gaming, for ex, intolerably laggy even in a menu.

Never had that kind of problem with NTFS junctions

same problem but with mw2 warzone from steam, installed under btrfs
