I've tried mounting the vmdk on a different drive letter and I'm still getting the same issue. Thanks in advance.
I did some googling, and I think this happens when the partition is being accessed/used by some application. I used Microsoft's PowerToys "FileLock" feature to figure out which programs were using my drive.
