Can you give me a complete log before and after upgrade? From this error alone
I cannot determine the error

Yes I can do this. do you want normal log or debug level?

Debug level is prefered.

I have both logs (pre and post) but as i was going through them to remove
personal information i could see the error. so i'm going to post that and if
it's not helpful i will post the full logs. just let me know.

It's and ASUS RT-N16 router running the following software
Tomato Firmware v1.28.7500 MIPSR2Toastman-RT K26 USB VPN

I'm going to look into a firmware update.
I'll let you know my results.

I upgraded my router firmware to the latest tomato vpn and it did solve the
problem. seems they included a new version of open vpn. you may wish to make a
note that there is a compatibility issue with the newer version and older
versions of open vpn.
thanks for your time.

It is not a problem with older OpenVPN. This phenomena only happens on Tomato
Firmwares so far.
