This sounds like some interaction between your network and the VPN. Try to test
wether the same happens with
- different networks mobile vs WiFi
- another client, e.g. PC/Notebook over the same WiFi/mobile network

Thanks for re,
This same issue seemms to hapend also with standart VPN build in to the android
settings of HTC one.
I have no problem using using VPN from laptop. Im using other VPN sofware there.
I was suspecting that VPN connection dies doe to idling too long. Some feature
of phone to save power maybe ... so maybe there is some way how to keep it
alive ?.

If the same thing happens with the standard Android VPN (which is completely
different VPN technology) that hints that the problem is probably not OpenVPN.
Other than that I don't know of any issues that not mentioned in the FAQ.

Yes Its not a defect in open VPN soft I think I agree. I was hoping its
someting commonly ecountered by new users of VPNs on phones. I will keep
searching then.
Thanks for help

one last thing. Looks like when I constantly get some data (refresh page etc)
VPN is stable. Does open VPN not have some feature to constatnly ping gateway
or something like keepalive ? Thanks

There is the keepalive feature but that is usally send from the server. For
more details you should check the man page or openvpn-users mailing list
