success. after some effort resolving dependencies i was able to get sublime running on kde chroot. looks good, but obviously tons of customization and learning need to make it a productive environment.
I'm closing out the chromebook experiment. I proved that a separate machine was needed to be productive in my developer studies. I'm on osx/unix for work, my personal machine is always going to be osx now unless apple really screws up.
