Finder - icons view of Computer - does not show all mounted volumes

This is probably a bug in Finder but here goes...

My brother (who is non-technical) wanted advice on FTP so I took the 
opportunity to have a 
novice try MacFUSE + MacFusion. All went as expected and the volume mounted but 
when I 
pointed him towards 

Finder | Go menu | Computer

-- in the Computer window, the volume was invisible. 

I tried from my end and had the same problem -- icons view of the window, but 
no trace of the 
volume within the window. 

(The volume was however present in sidebar.)

The problem can be worked around by choosing alternate view (list or column), 
then back to 
icons view.

You need to specify more information when you file things like this--what 
MacFUSE version is this? What user file 
system version? What exact command-line options are being passed? I see that 
you are using a GUI, but what 
options is the GUI passing behind the scene?

I see the volume appear in the Computer window on my system without any 
workarounds.

Yes, please set status of this issue to invalid. Not limited to MacFUSE-mounted 
volumes.

A further test using a FireWire disk reveals that although the 
count refreshes automatically when a volume is mounted 
-- "3 Items" appears in both screenshots below -- 
the _icons_ view does not refresh automatically
-- the count of icons rises from two to three only 
_after_ I switch from one view to another then back again.
