Damage nerf might be too much #61

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. With proper gear and stuff right now, only elemental damage are able to kill me.

I think turning up the damage will create another problem of killing players. The gear listed here seems incredibly optimized with enchantments. Perhaps the enchantments should be looked at?

According to minecraft wiki, protection usually only scales up to protection IV. In this case however We have protection 8. According to the wiki, the protections stack with each armor piece enchanted, and also stacks with Projectile Protection as well. And the protection enchants stack multiplicatively with your base armor as well.

In addition the wiki states that the damage reduction given by the enchantment is (4*level of enchantment)%; so each of your enchantments is providing 32% damage reduction. While also stacking with the armor values of your armor, and for projectiles stacking with projectile damage reduction as well.

I think that perhaps the problem may be related to the math of extreme enchantment stacking, rather than the creature's damage. Increasing the creature's damage in a way that would challenge your extreme damage mitigation, would utterly annihilate anyone who doesn't have the same multiplicative, stacking reductions. Or at least that's the impression I get based on what I read on the wiki. :P

Mine and slash damage shouldn't be affected by vanilla reductions at all, if it is, it's a bug.

Currently mns allows a mix of both vanilla and mns damage, so yes having lots of protection enchants can almost remove half of the damage (as it works in vanilla mc anyway..)

thanks, I'll have to adjust the max enchant levels and undo the damage nerfs I did early on
