Trident not recognized as 'gear' after being crafted #124

Pretty straightforward. Crafted a trident, didn't get rarity/stats/etc., can't modify with orbs, etc. Would it not be possible to make an orb that "Sets" an item to a gear or "checks" it to see if it has the appropriate stats and such to avoid this situation?
