I am also having this problem. Minimalist will hide the bar, but if I want it
back - tough! It will simply not put the Google bar back up. Really annoying.

Please attach a screenshot of what you're seeing.
If you can see google links and settings then it sounds like the Google bar is
there...

I don't understand what the problem is. That's exactly how it's supposed to
work. It's hidden when checked, the toggle stip shows on hover and it is shown
when you click it... You can also use keyboard shortcuts. Toggle with [ \ ] and
show with [ / ]

It's the black Google bar I want back up. If I go to Google.co.uk then click
Gmail at the top, it disappears when in Gmail (although I can see still a
little black line, it won't pop up).

ALso, the shortcuts don't work. \ does nothing, where as / is a Gmail shortcut
to the search box at the top.

It doesn't exist any more. That's the old Google bar. It has been replaced by
Google: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/next-stage-in-our-redesign.html
That is not a Minimalist issue.
Yes, [ / ] is the shortcut for the search box. If the google bar is hidden, it
also unhides it (because the search bar is in the Google bar now)

Still an issue. Hide Google Bar also hides the entire search bar below it :(
