I cannot replicate this so it likely has something to do with your particular
modules. Please give me a full data export:
1. Go to Menu > Tools > Extensions
2. Click "Developer Mode" in the top right
3. Click "Inspect views: _generated_background_page.html" under Minimalist
4. Click the "Console" tab
5. Enter the command `getRawData()` and hit [ Enter ]
6. Copy the output into a text file and attach it here
(Sorry that's so complicated but it's the only way to do it if the options page
isn't loading...)

Did you have any custom modules? Or just the core modules Gmail and Google
Reader? If you only had the core modules, you should just do a reset. Follow
the same steps 1-4 above but enter the command `minDB.reset()` in step 5.
