Am I right you want to do EXACTLY the same thing that is possible by using:
1. rdiff-backup
2. rdiff-backup-fs

?

If not, I have an issue for you - very limited description at project homepage
that prevents me judging that I'm interested or not.

If you would like to do same as rdiff-backup but optimised in incremental data
saving space algorithms using object specific techniques then this project is
VERY interesting. If not, this is simple backup utility clone.

So, I would like an answer which should be at least descriptive about plans for
the future if you want help developing such a thing.

Good points. I have added a FAQ page with some clarification:
http://code.google.com/p/boar/wiki/FAQ

This issue tracker is not really the place for questions though, please use the
mailing list in the future.

Hi,

Hmm, after rereading, rethinking all the thing I doubt that were good
points :) I'm still not sure what possibly boar will do when I'll
download it, but now I know that I should think of it more as a RCS.
I still don't get what the difference is between for example CVS and
boar at the user level (because I know that technically speaking storage
is different - here should be a short explanation of implemented
features by examples too in the FAQ, I think).
I mean... you have a beta software and you claim it's good, better than
CVS, Subversion, Mercurial and so on, for binary, fast, non-duplicate
storage, But i still cannot force myself to have energy for testing boar
without any clue how. It's easy to say, mine is better. But it is very
hard to leave your current RCS (especially that you loose your history),
so why bother testing?

Maybe I'm bubbling, maybe I'm whining, and maybe you should shout to me
"Just try it!"... i don't really know :D
I have to sleep with boar idea few weeks or do the hard work comparing :/.

Nevertheless, keep up the good work trying to beat them up. I would like
to have possibility some day to say "no, no other RCS than xxxx, it's
best" and not to choose "this for x", "that for y" and so...

Right now I'm trying to stretch my hard drives so the problem is delayed ;)

Have a nice day

K.
