These methods look like candidates for ByteStreams (with obvious 
implementations):

OutputSupplier<java.util.zip.DeflaterOutputStream> deflate(OutputSupplier<? 
extends OutputStream> source);

InputSupplier<java.util.zip.InflaterInputStream> inflate(InputSupplier<? 
extends InputStream> source);

InputStreamSupplier<InputStream> newInputStreamSupplier(javax.jnlp.FileContents 
file);

OutputStreamSupplier<OutputStream> 
newOutputStreamSupplier(javax.jnlp.FileContents file);

Sorry that should have been InputSupplier<InputStream> and 
OutputSupplier<OutputStream>

I suggest a more general FilterInputStreamSupplier in Issue 1043 which would 
cover the first case.
