Add option to use alias as main address #1859

Currently I have one account john@company.com and an alias john@corp.com which redirects to this address. I'd now like to use john@corp.com as the main account and john@company.com as the alias.

So you want 2 mailboxes, or one?

If one, your simplest solution is to use Identities in Roundcube, or your desktop/mobile email client.

I'd just like to switch which is the main account, and which is the alias.

There is no magic button, but you can certainly switch them.

So what do you want to do? 2 mailboxes - keeping the old one as is and starting fresh for the new 'main account' OR having the old mail be in the "new" account's mailbox?

You can run sudo mailinabox to change the hostname of the server and then create a new user, and new forwarder if you want to keep them separate, OR you can do the before mentioned, and then move the maildir to the proper location for maildir files.
