Mail-in-a-Box helps individuals take back control of their email by defining a one-click, easy-to-deploy SMTP+everything else server: a mail server in a box.
I am tried to connect the app to a mail server. I am using the correct settings because with the same settings in outlook i am able to connect to the account. In the app in nextcloud I am getting an error:
"Creating account failed:Connection to IMAP at mylingoteacher.com:143 failed. Error connecting to mail server."
Logs are no help either. Any help/guidance on the issue would be appriciated. I tried rainloop but that one is not even letting me login with the default admin creds so i can configure the account.
To create an account, use the Mail in a Box admin panel, via the website.
The port number 143 is not used by Mail in a Box. Are you using SSL/encryption on the IMAP connection?
Rainloop is not part of Mail in a Box. Are you modifying the Mail in a Box installation? You are more or less on your own if you want to go that route.
For future reference, you might get faster answers to usability questions on the discourse or slack forums, the github issues are aimed at bug reports.
