O/S: Ubuntu 10.04 (32-bit)
Apache2 + PHP5

From the cli:
cd /var/www
unzip ~/kfm-1.4.7.zip
chmod 0777 -R kfm-1.4.7

Then in either chromium or firefox:
http://localhost/kfm-1.4.7

Results:
White screen with a single line on it:
error: "" could not be created
