What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. load settings, return to instant or rec. no alert, blank screen
2. movies load soon after
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
friendly alert informing of progress

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

try and use a an alert bar (requires issue 21)
