As I plan to migrate towards Arduino environment, java could be right platform for it.
QT was also considered as wxWidgets, as .net, but java looks like easiest to install by unexperienced user. And user should have it already installed with Arduino.
Also it requires only one common binary for all platforms - no crosscompilations for Win/Mac/Linux/Whatever.
