If I have files I want to seed, I can add the files to .../downloads and then add the torrent file to .../downloads. This works, but the files stay in downloads and don't seem to transfer to the .../seeding folder like regularly added torrents do.
I'd like to have these files in the 'seeding' directory, because I publish that directory through a miniDLNA server.
I figured out how to turn off XD, move the data to 'seeding', delete the torrent file from 'downloads', and then overwrite the '*.settings' file in 'metadata' with the settings file from another torrent. After restarting XD, this seems to work fine.

Is there a better way to do this?
