Plugin does not work with UNC paths #569

Due to problems with long path names on Windows (unrelated to this plugin), I was advised to set the Pidgin directory to a UNC path set PURPLEHOME=\\?\C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming before running Pidgin.

This setting prevented the plugin from working.

Did it help the logging situation at all though, or was that a bust too?

The history logging? Didn't have a chance to check since Pidgin crashed shortly after startup. I added some more information in the Discord channel
