athena not doing anything? #11

Hi, It looks like the plugin is pretty much what I am searching for, but I can't get it to work. I have Joplin running on Windows 10. I also have the hotfolder plugin, which works fine. But Athena did not do anything for me after I specified a folder where it should look for new files. I already uninstalled all other plugins, but it didn't make a difference. I also reinstalled Athena (several times already), and upon one reinstall, it suddenly imported the contents of the C:\Programs\Joplin directory into the specified "inbox" folder. But that happened only once. But I also noted that I wasn't really able to do a clean reinstall, because it always remembered my old settings when I reinstalled it. I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas?

Same issue here. The plugin doesn't work anymore :(

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

Ok which version of Joplin do you use? And what OS version? I will have a look.

I have tested it on windows 10/11 with latest Joplin beta (2.9.17)

EnidanBri commented 1 year ago

Windows 10, up to date Joplin, 2.8.8, latest non-beta release

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

@EnidanBri thank you for providing the data I investigate on 2.8.8

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

I can confirm the issue (repro on 2.8.8) For now the plugin will require 2.9.17 to work. I will dig into it.

EnidanBri commented 1 year ago

I upgraded to beta 2.9.17 and I can confirm that it works there. Thanks!

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

@EnidanBri great news! Thank you for reporting, I did not test my plugin with the official release, only with the latest beta.

During testing, I also found some bad errors due to old dependencies, the PDF extract won't work.

The issue with the import path is wired. For now, it's not elegant fixed, for the future I need to integrate some more checks in order to handle improper input or reload better.

So am I right to assume I can close the Issue?

I'm using Joplin 2.9.17 on win10, I tried everything but nothing. Every time I change the settings it creates me approximately 10 empty notebooks but does not import any files. Thanks for the help

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

ah ok, do you validate the note exists (default to inbox), yes it should not create empty notebooks!? I will check on that error as well.

mcordv commented 1 year ago

The note not exist, only create the empty notebooks. I've tried several different configurations, but I haven't had results.

mcordv commented 1 year ago

I tried to delete the created notebooks, then I deleted the plugin, deleted temporary files, reinstalled it and now it works correctly!! I don't know what the bug will be, but now it works. Thanks a lot!!

makaanneo commented 1 year ago

Ok that is as well new for me I will have a look into it.

ncatanchin commented 1 year ago

@makaanneo just want to note that on Ubuntu v23.04 I have run into a problem where I believe this plugin imported my "dotfiles" (~/.bashrc, ~/.profile, as well as eg. ~/.bash_history and many more) into joplin and then removed them from my home directory.

anitagraser commented 1 year ago

Just wanted to leave a thank you and confirm that the plugin is working for me on Joplin 2.10.19 (prod, win32) & Athena: 2.2.3
