Keys & Security at new space

Please don't discuss our options for security and keys here or elsewhere on the internet, but perhaps someone who is interested in solving this could create a group project page on the wiki (to coordinate people rather than what you are doing) and start meeting about this at the space?

Keys

We have only one set of keys. The gate padlock, door to top section and padlock to smaller garage are all keyed alike using a registered key that costs $50 to get a copy of.

The large garage has a more standard key.

The top section door lock isn't fitted very well and is hard to use. There is also a key to the upstairs security screen before the door.

The cost of keys makes it fairly urgent to find a solution - which might be to introduce RFID tag controlled entry depending if that can be done on the doors at the new place.

Alarm System

We also need to decide what the best option is for security. At the moment there is an alarm system with a pin and a phone line for back to base. We are responsible for security. We can get a contract with a security company and pay for that and a phone line for the back to base, basically to continue what is there now but with us paying. Or we might be able to come up with a good way of doing it over our internet connection instead.

Back to base security alarm will continued to be provided by ACTPG for now. Phone line must not be used for any other purpose.
