[feature]: Gitea Integration #1495

Open Quadrubo opened 11 months ago

Quadrubo commented 11 months ago

Is there an existing issue for this?

Summary

Simillarly to #408, an integration with Gitea for syncing Issues would be nice.

Why should this be worked on?

Would allow gitea users to sync their issues.

Hey @Quadrubo, we sincerely appreciate and value your suggestion. Thank you for submitting the feature request. Our team will brainstorm around it, and we will keep you updated on any progress made.

Thanks!

Would really love to see this! Gitea (or Forgejo) are really nice light-weight options for self-hosting / managing git repositories (compared to say GitLab), but the task management / project management features are definitely pretty bare-bones. Pairing self-hosted Gitea with Plane would be a great setup.

I would totally agree with r0bbie. As i was searching on an alternative to the gitea issues because of its minimal design i stumbled across this issue. I would appreciate this feature in the near future! Best regards!

A strong Plane + Gitea integration would be the perfect open source killer for JIRA + Bitbucket. Many enterprise will adopt Plane as some of them are already using Gitea, but at the moment the benefits of Atlassian integrations between JIRA and Bitbucket are too good to consider Plane as a serious alternative. Gitea offers everything and more than Bitbucket, Plane does the same with JIRA,... together they would be the perfect open source alternative.

From within a Plane issue we should be able to have a "Development" section with a resume of the number of PR and commits associated to that Plane issue (anything using that Plane issue ID in the commit message).

It should be possible to see more details on a pop up or some other contextual way which would display a resume of the most relevant details of any Gitea commit/PR (commit message, owners, dates...) avoiding the need to navigate away from Plane into Gitea to know more, unless you really need to inspect history, code or any further information not displayed on that Plane popup.
