Adding diagonal animations #50

Open EnemyArea opened 10 years ago

The hero can walk up,down, left and right. But I missing the diagonal directions. Any chance to get them :) ?

This tileset doesn't have diagonal animations. It'd be nice to have, but it'd take a lot of work to do it all. Someone might have made diagonal animations at Open Game Art. I think I saw some at one point, though I may be mistaken. If there are diagonal animations there, they'll probably get added up eventually, but it'd still be a lot of work to add them all in.

Man, I wish! I'd recommend making a good case over at OpenGameArt.com - if someone could convince Redshrike to adapt the base animations, maybe the rest could follow. It's a ton of work, though.

As Makrohn said, it'd be nice, but its a ton of work. Personally I'm happy with just the four way directional for now.

how much would it cost to create only the naked body + weapon animations (bow, longsword, spear)? maybe I hire some one to create them it for me :D

Well, I personally do not have enough time to do it. I have a ton of other work to do... and even then, although I'm decent at spriting, I'm not confident enough to do full diagonal animations. You should head over to OpenGameArt.org like Makrohn suggested.

A lot of artists over there will do this this kind of work for pay. Either way it'll still be released under the same license, though. Makrohn recommended Redshrike; contact Redshrike first and see if Redshrike would be willing to do the diagonals if you pay.

If the bases are made, eventually we'd be able to work on adapting the clothes and weapons, too. I plan on working on additional animations myself later, but the angle sprites are really tricky and are not something I'm confident enough to do. Plus, as noted before I'm still really busy as an Independent Contractor doing Web Development work.

Once I'm financially stable doing my existing work I'll be able to spend more time working on my own games I'm planning which also means I'll be able to work more on sprite enhancements. One of the first things I'm planning is a full cloak to go with the hood.
