malafein: I had started off putting in some holy sites and religious head, but then I decided it didn't really make any sense. But, I have considered putting them back in. I thought about either using locations that had high tech levels or some republics' starting counties.
A religious head doesn't exactly make sense either, but I thought if I do put that back in then maybe it could just be someone that has achieved a certain amount of recognition and influence.
huntercullen: holy sites could be historically important sites, such as jerusalem, rome, baghdad, other important holy sites, basically showing the world that religion isn't necessary for success. The Religious head really just denotes the most important policy-maker in the religion, you could just have the title be granted to the first powerful ruler/priest, or you could make it so that the priests themselves occasionally get the opportunity to affect the religious authority with random events, if possible.
