Retraction noise. #4

Anyone help, i got this firmware on my Max, love it only one thing is I'm getting this strange sound from my E , on every retraction, like its straining as soon as i change to this firmware. Everything else works great Ui etc Any help or advice much appreciated. after a few minutes printing, the E stops extruding altogether

Do you use linear advance? If yes disable stealthchop for the extruder by using M569 S0 E

not using LA atm.

im not using LA but i thought id try disabling like you suggested if i was and it stopped the noise instantly. Trying a print now, so far its going good. thanks for that
