Memory leak, v2.9.2 #60

Open creeve4 opened 8 years ago

creeve4 commented 8 years ago

Every time I adjust the volume level, the RAM usage of 3RVX.exe increases. This is after adjusting the volume about 20 times:

Yikes! Seems like this could be related to #59. Did the same thing happen in 2.9.1? Also, what skin are you using?

creeve4 commented 8 years ago

I have not tried 2.9.1, I can do so tomorrow if that will help. I am using a theme cashed Material that I downloaded from Deviantart.com.

Ok, I think I can reproduce this bug now. Not sure why it wasn't happening to me earlier, but I'll keep you posted.

creeve4 commented 8 years ago

Thank you, please let me know if I can help in any way.

Ok, I think I have a fix ready for this, but I need to do a bit more testing. Do you have the option enabled to hide the OSD when a directX app is fullscreen?

creeve4 commented 8 years ago

Yes, I do have that option enabled.

Just another confirmation for this issue on 2.9.2 (portable). Happens, as eluded above, when you have the DirectX option enabled. My memory usage climbed to around 180 MB within 10 minutes or so of using with the option ticked. Untick that, restart 3RVX, back to ~5 MB memory usage.

Windows 7 x64 as well.

DeusaSombria commented 7 years ago

+1 confirmation. Every time volume is adjusted RAM usage increases. 2017-04-23_120708

2.9.2 (installer) Windows 10 x64

The "Hide when DirectX applications are fullscreen" option actually seems unnecessary as long as the other fullscreen option is on. On Windows 10 Pro 3RVX 2.9.2 I've had the former turned off since this issue cropped up and have had no issues with the OSD popping up over fullscreen DirectX (mostly games). Unless it's there to hide only for DirectX; not very useful for games as many windows games don't even use DirectX.

@malensek This is still an issue- I was just turning up my volume for a while and found memory to get really large I did have the DirectX feature enabled. The program was using 30megs of memory by the time I realized.
