Should the draft include a quotable, succinct definition or would that undermine the complexity of what e2ee communication systems entail?

It would be helpful for the draft to include a fairly formal definition. The definition may be rather long to cover all aspects and some of the discussion from the different sections can be aggregated as part of the definition. Currently the draft discusses the problem space and challenges, but to be helpful for developers it should state what is and what is not E2EE.
