  1. The Condor -bird ecology focused -IF: 2.804 -focuses more on management/birds

  2. The Auk -also bird ecology focused -IF: 2.658 -more fundamental science on birds

  3. The American Naturalist -broad biological principles and wide audience -IF: 3.855 -wants innovation in methodology & theoretical synthesis

  4. Journal of Field Ornithology -focuses on birds in their natural habitats (good) -IF: 1.846 -Could be good fit? But maybe not super ambitious?

  5. Avian Conservation & Ecology -focuses on scientifically sound practices that enact conservation through ecology -IF: 2.138 -OA and entirely online

  6. Journal of Arid Environments -"biological aspects...of arid ecosystems" -IF: 1.825 -maybe not super direct, but a solid ecosystems journal

I'm currently feeling invested in Journal of Field Ornithology and then The Condor; I think the former is really a perfect fit for this study, but The Condor would also work based on their scope and is a little broader of a reach for a bird paper. I'm inclined to say this is a bird-plant paper, and this list currently ignores the plant half a little more, unfortunately.
