This works (http://jsfiddle.net/emEE9/) :

<div id="banner-0">
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/potato_day_2013-1542005-hp.jpg"/>
</div>
<div id="banner-1">
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/childrens_day_2013-1516005-hp.jpg"/>
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/childrens_day_2013-1517005-hp.jpg"/>
</div>
$('#banner-0, #banner-1').cycle();

but this (http://jsfiddle.net/emEE9/1/):

<div id="banner-0">
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/childrens_day_2013-1516005-hp.jpg"/>
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/childrens_day_2013-1517005-hp.jpg"/>
</div>
<div id="banner-1">
    <img src="http://www.google.com/logos/2013/potato_day_2013-1542005-hp.jpg"/>
</div>
$('#banner-0, #banner-1').cycle();

makes both banners vertically aligned.
