Excuse these questions being placed here, but I couldn't immediately find a better way to make contact. Considering the content of this repository, I have a few important questions:

Where did you get the source code?

Were the contents of pkgs.tar.gz compiled recently or are they the contents of old floppies?

I am asking this because I was not able to quickly find any copies of AT&T SVR4 Version 3.0 online and am additionally wondering where you got the source.

Hi there, apologies for the late response.

  1. The source code was imported into git from this Internet Archive from the file sysvr4.tar.bz2
  2. The pkgs.tar.gz file was recently compiled myself under a QEMU virtual machine. It includes the packages I felt were the most useful.

I could add build instructions to the README if needed. I have them written down on paper, so I'd need to first find them and then transcribe them.

Note that the license for this source is... unknown to me, so I would be wary using this outside of anything but hobbyist or preservation activities.

PS: No need to apologize. If anything, publicly making a GitHub issue would be the best cause in the case of anyone having the same question.
