review findbugs report #82

We added the FindBugs report recently to the maven-generated site. We
should be able to clear this list for all of our code.

The original plan was to review this list for the 3.0 milestone release but
that is unlikely to happen. It might work well as a 3.1 minor release.

Changed from Started back to Accepted. I will not start on this right now. This 
would
be a great issue for anyone looking to join the project in some way.
