Yesterday ... it was my last use of jbrout. And I used this version to correct some old photos I've got on my hdds (understand that this version is nearly usable). Yesterday ... I've finnished to migrate all my pictures to "google photos" (free account / unlimited). It's totally amazing to have got access to all my pictures thru my devices (smatphone, nest hub, chromebook ... etc ...). And btw, they are all (automatic)indexed ... so it's definitivly, for me, the best way .. to find (quickly) a group of photos in all circunstance ... All my photos are now in a "secure" place, (in the cloud) .... I don't say it's the way to go for everybody. But for me (and for my familly) : it's perfect ... I don't know it I will finnish this port's version, to a well polished/usable(fully) 1.0 version ... or specialize it in an app to correct photos .. only the future knows.

Thank you for the news. I still use/need jbrout for my photo process, indeed I love it's fast tagging system (mouse to select and keyboard typing to tag). I still think it's unique for that, but maybe I'm wrong. I still share my pictures through a piwigo website. Anyway, people interaction with pictures has evolved a lot, and it's harder to keep being a pioneer, or at least such an original guy. This path was maybe too diffcult for mainstream use. I have tuned a bit jbrout, built some plugins; but the way to become a real python developer looks pretty long from my point of view. The past has teached us, who knows what the future will bring to us ?

Sad. Certainly, it is just your choice, but it is sad that you gave up on independence of your data and stored your personal data with an advertising company. Sad.

But ...

I was looking for a "killer app" to proove the use of htag IRL ... and now, I really think that I've found my idea ;-) Although this depot is really advanced : I could rewrite all the UI using "htag" (in place of guy) ! It's a really good idea ! (re-using the core of jbrout (which is in place in this depot)) It could be the real rebirth of jbrout. Because I don't work anymore on guy, and really really prefer to use htag for my apps. (with htag : it will be like a classical gtk app, in modern rendering, and could be embbedded in pywebview or a cefpython, on in a real webapp (on a nas, for example))

stay tuned

Hey Manatlan, I'm glad to read there's some hope of a Jbrout rebirth ! I'm a big fan and strongly believe it's the best picture manager ever ;) Can't wait to use it again,

Have a nice day,
