When sorting the database, we should ignore "the" when alphabetizing. So "The United States" should probably be under "U" after Unitarian and before Unity. There may be instances where that isn't appropriate, but it seems like it is overwhelmingly appropriate? This could be modified for language versions ("Die" "Le/La/Les" etc)
