I'm not sure why do you need this change ?

We do not like the current GUI stack which tries to do too many automatic things (like the automated Z positioning that does not work really well).

We might remove many things in this area.

Hi, At the moment when you put to much element in one window the last one's tends to drop behind the background of the window. Doing this solves the problem. If of course you intend to drop the auto z stacking then doing the change wouldn't be very useful. I haven't noticed any misbehavior on the z indexs thought.
