I am not sure if this is even possible but I feel like renaming some of the vehicle upgrades is needed. For example, the Suspension Level 4 is named "Rally Suspension" which in game lowers the car all the way. I think adjusting the names will not only make a little more sense for immersion but it might help some of the other mechanics make sense of which upgrade is the highest tier.
