Input text function does not work at all when trying to filter content

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Access any area of the main menu with content (e.g. Music or Movies)
2. Open the sidebar (or however it is displayed on your chosen skin) and select 
filter
3. on the remote, select Text Entry, type something and tap Send

What is the expected output?
Input string of characters is sent to the text field on screen

 What do you see instead?
no character is sent to the text field on the screen. Simply put, the remote 
does not send anything to XBMC

What version of XBMC Remote are you using? 1.0.9

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
 Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, Paranoid Android 2.57.3 based on CM 10.0

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
12.1 Stable, git 0d373cc

Please provide any additional information below.
I thought it was skin specific problem for Aeon Nox but the same happens on 
Confluence. It used to work just fine on XBMC Eden

I'm having the same issue. Might help the dev to know that text entry works on 
my old hp dv6xxx laptop but not my new Asus q200e. They are running identical 
xbmc versions and the remote is on Verizon htc one m8. Can try with a galaxy 
nexus if you'd like.
