Suggesting IRC as the main communication platform #71

Currently most development discussion is performed on skype. Being present on 
skype is a larger commitment than having an IRC session running on a shell. In 
the SC community IRC is quite popular so I don't see it as a barrier to 
communication with our users especially since there are web based IRC clients 
available.

Can we settle on IRC as our main communication platform? If so then what 
network and channel should we use.

I very much support this. Then I can turn sounds back on for skype and not wake 
up to little noises. :-)
