This PR

fixes the deprecation warnings triggered by emcee's 3.0 API changes
fixes the two MCMC tests that have been failing for some of us.

This PR also changes some of travis's pinnings per #299

Looks good, thanks for looking into this. Is it possible to rebase these changes and submit a PR against the 3.3-rebase branch (see #307), since the 3.3 branch is contaminated with a relatively large .h5 file?

I'm not sure what the best way forward is. There's no PR, but once someone signs off on the changes in #307, I think we can rename that branch to 3.3, or just make it the release branch.
