Cities II March 25th Update with Mods Crashes #3

Open MooseQuest opened 6 months ago

MooseQuest commented 6 months ago

Issue

When launching with Mods will crash to desktop.

Workaround

Select in Steam Game Properties, launch Cities Skylines II (Without Mods)

Notes

manolz1 commented 6 months ago

I may not be able to look into this for about a week or so (I actually don’t have access to the game anymore either), but are you able to post any wine crashlogs or any errors that pop up?

AthanasiusOfAlex commented 6 months ago

I just tried it several times. I attempted to open the game without mods. Ordinarily, it does not give any error messages. However, after I hit “Play” in the launcher screen, the screen goes blank, the mouse cursor turns into an arrowhead (without the stem), and then after about a minute, I get returned to Steam and the play button changes from “Stop” to “Play,” presumably because the program has crashed.

On one occasion, I got the error messages enclosed.

The crash issue seems fixed by new update 1.1.1f1.

The crash to desktop (on my end) happens 3 or 4 times, sometimes more, then the game opens and runs regularly. The issue I have is paradox mods not downloading

Sorry everyone, I don’t have access to the game anymore. If anyone is willing to share it with me somehow I can debug and try see what the issues are with the latest versions.

I could share it potentially

I would be willing to share. Can this be done on Steam?

I think the best way is if you create a second dummy steam account, use family sharing on it and share Cities II with it. Then share that dummy account with me?

I will give it a try.

OK, I created a dummy account and applied family sharing. (I think I might still need to authorize your computer.)

How can I reach out to you privately to give you the info? Perhaps on Steam itself?

Sorry, any updates? I think I can also share this game.

Sorry, any updates? I think I can also share this game.

I updated to macOS sequoia and GPTK2 which does not require this patch and yet I still got the error. I think this error has something to do with a reading/writing permission issue rather than something with this patch.
